Preliminary assessment for the ‘Westerwald’ bird sanctuary

The purpose of the preliminary assessment of the implications for the protected bird sanctuary is to determine whether the NATURA 2000 site may be affected by the project ‘Reconstruction of an arched bridge at the L 280/K109 junction (Steinches Mühle)’ and whether this is likely to have a significant negative impact on the conservation objectives. If adverse effects can be ruled out, no bird sanctuary impact assessment needs to be initiated after this assessment step. However, an impact assessment is required if a site of communal importance may be significantly affected by a project.
